In a breathtaking scenario at the
foot of Mont Blanc, the Val Ferret Fishing Club Reserve,
part also of the Aosta Valley Riverain Circuit, offers
great satisfaction in all kinds of fishing from May
to November. The mountain stream concerning the reserve
rises from the Triolet and Pre de Bar glaciers, and
flows for more than 10 km., along which it is joined
by tributaries and resurgent springs. It is coasted
by the mountain road in a practically unpolluted environment
where its not at all unusual to come across
deer and roe-deer or to see chamois deer and marmots.

In
the stretches of the stream where catches are permitted,
effective natural bait or the dynamic artificial type
can be used, besides of course dry fly and streamers.
Along a stretch of about 2,8 km., theres the
obligation to release the no kill catches and this
stretch is reserved to fly fishing only. On request,
a companion service is available to fly-fishers. Fishing
in this area is subject to advanced booking. The new
management of the club has promoted a project to improve
the ecosystem of the river area with some minor naturalistic
engineering operations. In the stretch where catches
are permitted, there are fine-sized char, rainbow
and salmon-trout of excellent quality. The no kill
tract is kept stocked with species of prestige that
have always been present in these valleys: mediterranean
s. trutta and marbled trout bred in the nearby
crystal-clear waters of some resurgent springs where
genetic purity and the best conditions are guaranteed.
