Famous tourist centre, La Thuile (1441m) is situated in a basin dominated by the Rutor Glacier and lies on the international road link of the Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo. The ski area called Espace San Bernardo, thanks to its international 'ski on feet' connection to the French ski resort of La Rosiére,offers 150 Km of piste (25 of which are covered by snow cannons) served by 38 lifts with an hourly capacity of 53.000 persons. In this way it is possible to ski on both sides of the Alps up to an altitude of 2612m with the Belvedere chair lift, using just one ski pass. The ski area is managed by the Società Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo S.p.A, and can be reached from the hamlet of Entrèves thanks to 2 adjacent lifts: the DMC (p/h 3000) and the Bosco Express chair lift (p/h 2400).
